Announcing the Final Workshop of the Year!
Join me this fall for the final workshop I'll be leading for 2024, the 3-part deep dive "Community-Centered Engagement: Fall Intensive," beginning in late October
Hey Changemakers!
At the beginning of this year, I dedicated myself to focusing on workshops that dive deeper into the foundational aspects of developing a healthier, more sustainable practice for work; building capacity for more meaningful, purpose-driven work; and providing the tools that can really help us be effective as agents of change in our work.
As we enter into the fall season, I’m so excited to share that this fall I’ll be revisiting the most popular workshop of the year - Community-Centered Engagement Intensive — newly refined for this fall.
Register Now for the Community-Centered Engagement Fall Intensive!
Community-centered practices are a key part of being an effective changemaker — yet the process of developing these practices as integrating them into your work with ease can be challenging. Most nonprofits want to work more closely and partner with local communities and community-based organizations, but many times they don’t know where to start or how to build effective, sustainable relationships based in equity and reciprocity.
In the Fall Intensive for Community-Centered Engagement, we will dive deeper into key aspects of community involvement, community partnerships, and audience engagement strategies at your organization.
During a series of three interactive, discussion-based online workshops (held on Zoom), we are going to:
learn about the difference between an asset-based approach and a needs-based approach to community involvement and participation
examine models of community involvement, audience participation, and co-creation, understanding how these models can help guide the work you are doing at your organization
engage in group working sessions geared to applying community-centered strategies to your organization
develop practical strategies and actions that can be implemented as part of your institution’s ongoing planning and programming (short-term and long-term)
learn about some organizations and people leading their fields in this type of community-centered work, and meet guest speakers who have incorporated strategies into their own community engagement practices
As with all my workshops, the Fall Intensive will be capped at around 20 registrants so as to foster an online community where we can get to know each other and learn from one another.
The Intensive is designed to serve the needs of anyone working on community involvement and audience engagement at their institution. It’s an especially great workshop for education and visitors services staff as well as those working in marketing, development, and curatorial departments. People from all sizes and types of organizations are welcome!
The Intensive also has an early registration discount (use the code: EARLYBIRD) if you register by September 30.
Also, it’s worth nothing, this is a particularly popular workshop, so I encourage you to sign up early if you can — the last time I held it in the spring, registration completely filled.
Workshop Dates and Times:
Wednesday, 10/30, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Wednesday, 11/6, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Wednesday, 11/13, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
You'll receive a Zoom link and follow up details shortly after you sign up.
Reminder: we capping registration at around 20, so we can focus on getting to know and learn from each other, and build a core community that we can stay connected with after the workshop ends.
Deadline for early registration discount is September 30 (use the code: EARLYBIRD).
I’m really excited to launch this workshop and bring together an incredible group for this Fall’s Community-Centered Engagement Intensive.
