Here's a run down of the details, links, and posts related to 3-part deep dive "Community-Centered Engagement: Fall Intensive," that begins Wednesday, Oct 30
Hey Changemakers!
The final workshop of the year, Community-Centered Engagement Intensive, begins this Wednesday, October 30! This will be the last time I run this workshop, and I’m really excited to make it the best workshop ever!
There are a few spots left and still time to sign up for the workshop. And I’m happy to answer questions if you have them (email me at murawski27@gmail.com).
Links and Details about Community-Centered Engagement Fall Intensive
This has been a very busy fall so far, especially with the upcoming election - which is why I’ve created this post to make it easy to review all the key details about the workshop.
First, as a review, here are the dates:
Wednesday, 10/30, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Wednesday, 11/6, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Wednesday, 11/13, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Second, as I’ve mentioned, this will be the final time I’ll be leading this workshop. It’s well timed to get ready for 2025, and we have a great group signed up so far.
Here are other key links with information about the details of this workshop and other key themes:
You’ll find general overview of each week’s session in this post from last month. One update I want to add is that in session three we’ll have a guest speaker for part of that session - Marianna Pegno from the Tucson Museum of Art
To hear more from Marianna directly about community engagement, I encourage you to listen to the podcast conversation I shared earlier this week.
One of the big questions we will begin our workshop with is “What is Community?.” This post from last month dives more deeply into that question.
Finally, take some time to read about the 6 lens framework we’ll be discussing during the workshop, if you haven’t already yet
Community-centered practices are a key part of being an effective changemaker — yet the process of developing these practices as integrating them into your work with ease can be challenging.
Most nonprofits want to work more closely and partner with local communities and community-based organizations, but many times they don’t know where to start or how to build effective, sustainable relationships based in equity and reciprocity.
In the Fall Intensive for Community-Centered Engagement, we will dive deeper into key aspects of community involvement, community partnerships, and audience engagement strategies at your organization.
The Intensive is designed to serve the needs of anyone working on community involvement and audience engagement at their institution. It’s an especially great workshop for education and visitors services staff as well as those working in marketing, development, and curatorial departments. People from all sizes and types of organizations are welcome!
