Deadline Reminder for Community Engagement Fall Intensive...and a Guide for Finding Balance
This coming Monday, September 30 marks the early registration deadline for "Community-Centered Engagement!"
Hey Changemakers!
The final workshop I’m leading this year is fast approaching and I have a key deadline I want to share with you.
Early Registration Deadline: Community-Centered Engagement
This coming Monday, September 30, marks the deadline for the early registration discount for the 3-part online intensive focused on “Community-Centered Engagement,” which will officially kick off on Wed, October 30 and run online in three parts.
In this fall intensive, we will be diving deeper into key aspects of community involvement, community partnerships, and audience engagement strategies. The workshop is designed to build a stronger community-centered practice and advocate for more meaningful community involvement and partnerships at your organization. In this deep dive that I shared last week, I outline the week-by-week structure for the workshop.
We are already half filled for this Fall Intensive, and it’s shaping up to be a really great group, with participants from places all across the US, working in different areas of work within museums, youth programming, arts and culture, city government, and community engagement.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me at murawski27@gmail.com if you have any questions, including scheduling challenges. We will have asynchronous components to help support conflicts, and as with previous workshops, I’m making myself available for an additional check in, if needed.
Some ideas for finding balance this coming week…
Right now as I post this, I’m in Tucson, Arizona, where I’m giving a talk on Human Centered Museums at this year’s Western Museum Association annual conference and connecting with others in the museum field.
While there, I’ll also be leading an accessible mindfulness walk at the conference hotel grounds on Saturday morning connected to this year’s theme of BALANCE.
I’m also excited to share that as part of this year’s conference, my Art Nature Place co-creator Bryna Campbell and I were invited to design a guide for the program about “Finding Balance,” where we provide tips for engaging the senses and finding our grounding in nature.
As we end the week, I want to take a moment to share this guide with you — which can also be found in the beginning pages of this conference program.
I hope that you can find some time in your day and week ahead for some balance in your day, and try one of these simple strategies!
