Deadline Reminders for Upcoming Spring Workshops
This Friday, March 15, marks the early registration deadline for "Community-Centered Engagement," and we are just one week away until the first "Making Change Happen" Workshop!
Hey Changemakers!
The two online workshops that I’m leading this spring are fast approaching and I have a couple of key deadlines I want to share with you.
Early Registration Deadline: Community-Centered Engagement
First, this Friday, March 15, marks the deadline for the early registration discount for the 3-part online intensive focused on “Community-Centered Engagement,” which will officially kick off on Wed, April 10 and run online in three parts.
In this spring intensive, we will be diving deeper into key aspects of community involvement, community partnerships, and audience engagement strategies. The workshop is designed to build a stronger community-centered practice and advocate for more meaningful community involvement and partnerships at your organization. In this deep dive that I shared last week, I outline the week-by-week structure for the workshop.
We are already half filled for this Spring Intensive, and it’s shaping up to be a really great group, with participants from places all across the US, working in different areas of work within museums, youth programming, arts and culture, city government, and community engagement.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me at murawski27@gmail.com if you have any questions, including scheduling challenges. We will have asynchronous components to help support conflicts, and as with previous workshops, I’m making myself available for an additional check in, if needed.
The First “Making Change Happen” Workshop is just one week away!
I’m really excited about to about the upcoming workshop, “Making Change Happen,” happening next March 21, 1-3 pm Eastern (10 am-12 pm Pacific, 5-7 pm London)!
These fun online workshops are designed to kickstart your journey to becoming a meaningful changemaker. In the workshop, we’ll identify specific change goals, learn practical strategies for making steps for change, and learn how to expand our sphere of influence in strategic ways to move towards collective action.
This workshop is also designed as an opportunity to meet others interested in changemaking work, building your community of change.
Registration is $49, but students can use the code STUDENT to register at discounted rate of $39.
I can’t wait to meet everyone and hope to see you there!
Some words of wisdom to reflect on…
As we end the week, here is one of my all-time favorite quotes from writer, community organizer, movement leader, and healer adrienne maree brown: “What we practice at the small scale sets the pattern for the whole system.”
This is a powerful reminder that all the small things we do, the small steps we take, and the small changes we make can have a much larger impact than we think. As brown also says, “Small is all.” So even every conversation we have leads to change.
Reflect on these words as you wrap up your week and look back at all the small things you’ve done that can (and will) lead to larger shifts. And head into next week with the intention of practicing your core values at the small scale.
