I enjoyed the entire essay from Harvard Magazine. But this definition sunk in with me, since it resonated with that feeling I've had so many times (especially earlier in my career) of wanting to have more like-minded people around me fighting for the same things -- but not actually experiencing that sense of support and connection. This definitely led to a feeling a being alone, and I think that probably caused me to move from one job to another until I was able to shift my mindset and work toward BUILDING that community of change (instead of waiting for it to find me).
